Barber
The full barber curriculum includes theory and practical instruction in the following areas:
- Hair and scalp treatments
- Hair styling
- Tinting
- Bleaching and frosting
- Temporary rinses
- Semi-permanent color
- Cold permanent waving or chemical relaxing
- Hair shaping
- Wig care, styling, placing on a model
- Finger waving and thermal waving
- Facials and waxing
Students may enter this program at varying levels - full, exempt or refresher.
Full Program - 1500 hours - $6,000
This program is designed for the student who has just entered the field of barbering or who would like to train from the ground up.
Refresher - 100 - $2,000
This program is designed for the student who has work experience, earned barbering hours or a combination of the two. Acceptance into this program requires a test-out by the LB staff. This test-out is similar to the requirements of the State Board practical exam.
Exempt - 30 - $1,000
This program is designed for the student who has completed 1500 hours of training and requires boot camp for licensing preparation. Like the refresher program, acceptance into this program requires a test-out by the LB staff. This test-out is similar to the requirements of the State Board practical exam.
