Early Bird Registration now open for Online Natural Hair and Braiding
Early bird registration is now open for the online natural hair and braiding program. Register by December 17, 2012 and your registration fee will be waived! Registration ends on December 28, 2012.
Since the deregulation of the braiding license in the state of Virginia, we have opted to condense our program to seventy-two hours (formerly 170 hours). Our twelve week program will be conducted live online for twelve weeks!
Start date: January 7, 2013
End date: March 26, 2013
Classes will meet live online each Monday from 7:00 - 9:00pm. The final session (hands-on) will take place on Monday, March 25th and Tuesday, March 26th for eight hours each day.

New Online Natural Hair and Braid Session!
The state of Virginia recently deregulated the natural hair and braiding license. Because professionalism, infection control and a host of other factors play a role in an optimal service, LB Beauty and Training Academy is resuming the program for those interested in the theory and hands-on techniques necessary to become a professional natural hair care professional.
The next session of the Online Natural Hair and Braiding program will begin on January 14, 2013 and end on April 2, 2013. This twelve-week program encompasses topics such as:
- Professionalism
- Retailing
- The Client Consultation
- Human Physiology
- Properties and Disorders of the Hair and Scalp
- Infection Control
- Hair Analysis
- Shampooing and Conditioning
- Ingredients
- Product selection
- Hair Care techniques and styles
- Hands-on: Hair Care techniques and styles
Students will earn hours towards a natural hair care license (where applicable). In states that do not honor a natural hair care license, students will receive a certificate and transcript where the hours earned may be used towards a cosmetology program.
Applications and fees must be received by 5:00pm on Monday, December 17, 2012.
Second Session of Online Natural Hair and Braiding Course begins in June!
The second session of the online natural hair care and braiding program will begin on June 25, 2012. This twelve-week program consists of online lecture and interaction, relevant assignments, assessments and hands-on instruction.
Students will learn topics including, but not limited to infection control, anatomy and the structure of the hair and scalp. Our cosmetology students are welcome to sit in on these courses as much of the course content is also required for the VA Cosmetology license.
Tuition: $2,000
Registration: $200 (non-refundable)

Online Braiding and Natural Hair License Preparation
We are pleased to announce that beginning February 2012 LB Beauty and Training Academy will offer an online braiding and natural hair license (VA) preparation program. The program will consist of online theory and face-to-face practical classes. This twelve week, one hundred seventy-hour program will begin on February 6, 2012 and end on April 30, 2012.
Enrollment in this twelve-week program begins December 1, 2011 and ends on January 9, 2012 with courses being held Monday and Tuesday evenings of each week. Those accepted into the program will have met the technical requirements and will have passed an online learning assessment.
